What is harassment?

Harassment is when somebody does something that makes you feel bad about yourself because of your disability. They might make you feel offended, embarrassed, intimidated (scared) or unwelcome. Examples of harassment include:

  • Taking, damaging, changing or turning off your disability aid without your permission
  • Putting things in your way, so you can’t move around
  • Teasing you about your disability
  • Making jokes about disability that upset you
  • Copying you in a way that upsets you
  • Asking you to do something they know you can’t do because of your disability
